W.R. Case & Sons Knives

American-made craftsmanship and collectible traditional pocket knives

W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company is an American manufacturer of premium, hand-crafted cutlery based in Bradford, Pennsylvania.

The company’s rich history began in 1889 when four brothers—William Russell (W.R.), Jean, John, and Andrew Case (a.k.a. “The Case Brothers”)—began fashioning knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. Today, Case is owned by American Brands, which is the Zippo Manufacturing Company, makers of the famous Zippo windproof lighter.

Case uses a unique tang stamp dating system that has been in use since the company’s early days. This interesting system has helped make Case one of the world’s most recognizable collectible brands.

The Case Collectors Club, with 19,000 active members, is the largest known knife collecting association in the world. Case’s commitment to quality is evident in the over 160 steps it takes to create each knife.

Case knives start with carefully shaped handles made from a wide range of genuine materials like cattle bone, stag antlers, buffalo horn, mother-of-pearl, exotic woods, and stones. Brass, nickel, and silver components highlight each form, creating knives that are not only beautiful but highly functional as well.

You’ll also find a variety of traditional pocket knives and classic knives for sale that appeal to collectors, outdoor users, and those who appreciate old-school American craftsmanship.
