Due South Knives is the in-house brand for Olde Towne Cutlery. The Heritage Collection is meant to be our premium knives that are 100% handmade. These patterns pay homage to classic, well-known patterns that have become famous throughout history. The Heritage Series is meant to challenge us as makers, and push our limits of craftsmanship and expertise. These knives are representative of our finest work at the time it was made. Each knife is serialized and one-of-a-kind. Tim Rowland of Rowland Cutlery and Lee Tigner of Olde Towne Cutlery collaborate on designs and material selections.
Due South Heritage Corpsman Bolo in a redwood lace burl wood handle with an ivory corian bolster and black micarta with grey and white pinstripes. Made with 3/16″ 1095 carbon steel it has a 10 1/2″ blade with a hamone line. The knife is flat ground and 16 1/2″ OAL.
An important piece of military history, the Corpsman’s Bolo were only issued in-theater, thus making them highly collectible. This Heritage piece is our homage to these brave men who carried this critical battlefield tool. This one features incredible redwood lace burl and an extremely “active” hamon line. Includes handmade sheath and display box.
This piece is Serialized #003, comes with a custom hand-tooled leather sheath by Dave Smith of Diamond S Knives and Custom Leather Work.
Also included is a custom-made, reclaimed oak wooden box made with the Heritage Collection logo engraved on the lid and stands to put on display.
